I especially loved the black-and-white ones. The funkier the better. It was sad when the arcades traded them in for the color ones with the larger format pictures.
Now, happily, even in the age of selfies, creative photo “booths” — even black-and-white ones — are ubiquitous at events.
But there is something still so dear about the memory of piling into those small, vintage booths with the little stool that adjusts and the curtain backgrounds.
