FLORET ORIGINALS

Be the change you want to see

Erin Benzakein, a flower breeder and owner of Floret,
released a line of flower seeds that are all new under the sun!

If you had told me …

If you had told me years ago that I would be sitting at my computer at 8:45 a.m. on a Tuesday morning waiting for the virtual doors to open on a flower seed site at 9 a.m. as if I was a Swiftie waiting for Ticketmaster tickets to drop, my reaction would have been ... wut?

But, here I am! And I'm giddy that I was able to purchase the first-ever seeds of new flower varieties offered by Floret Flowers. I now eagerly await the arrival of my Floret Original seeds of Glowing Embers and Rose Gold Celosia and my Precious Metal and Unicorn Mix of Zinnias.

And here's a fun fact ... I love gardening but I don't even have a place in my garden for cut flowers (although I'll find it now). So then, if that's the case, what brought me to this site and floral seed launch in the first place? For one, the marketer in me was impressed by the beautifully executed strategy that applied the principals of any successful digital launch -- the countdown clock, the add-on value, the use of influencers who received pre-orders and the media -- to the launch of Floret Originals.

The campaign also leaned heavily on A.I.D.A., an anagram that makes up the cornerstone of any successful modern marketing campaign.

Here’s how Floret cultivated AIDA in an ideal client (me)!

ATTENTION. Floret first had to come to my attention only weeks ago through other YouTube garden channels I watch. Yes, I'm that person! I was enchanted by the beauty of these flowers and impressed by Floret's photography, cinematography and story.
INTEREST. I didn't have to do too deep of a dive to learn more. I had learned of them just as they were going toward releasing a totally new breed of flowers. Dozens of videos and Instagram posts began to show up in my feeds. (See below for what makes these flower literally something new under the sun). I became intrigued by Floret's story.
DESIRE. I'm hooked and can't wait to see these flowers growing in my yard. And then, a week out from the launch Erin reveals a new value-add -- a printed booklet you can only get when you buy the seeds. Sign me up!
ACTION. Me on Tuesday morning at 8:59 a.m. ready to make my purchase.
